Volbeat - Guitar Gangsters and Cadillac ... 2008Time_Signature has listened to this a couple of times. Excellent Non-Prog Metal! Concept, Melodic, Hardcore, Rock-'n'-Roll, Nu-Metal, Melancholic, Male-Clean-Vocals, Male-Melodic-Shouting Volbeat carryy on their brand of "metal 'n' roll" on "Guitar Gansters and Cadillac Blood", which does not offer any noteworthy changes from the predecessor, but of course, if it ain't broke, why fix it? The album is a concept album of sorts, as seven songs evolve lyrically about the goings on in "10 House City". While most of the songs are mostly hardcore-ish, som of them contain some really earrippong old school thrash metal riffs. Volbeat - Live: Sold Out 2008, DVDTime_Signature has watched this a couple of times. Magnificent Non-Prog Metal! Modern, Hardcore, Rock-'n'-Roll, Nu-Metal, Boogie, Male-Clean-Vocals, Male-Melodic-Shouting Captures the energy of Vobeat's legendary (at least by local standards) live shows from all over Europe. One annyoing thing is the MTV-style cutting whose flurry of cuts becomes annoying at times. Volbeat - Rock the Rebel/Metal the Devil 2007Time_Signature has listened to this a couple of times. Magnificent Non-Prog Metal! Melodic, Modern, Hardcore, Rock-'n'-Roll, Nu-Metal, Thrash-Metal, Boogie, Energetic, Melancholic, Male-Clean-Vocals, Male-Melodic-Shouting Volbeat returns with their mixture of classic rock 'n' roll and heavy metal (aka metal 'n' roll), and this one works even better than the previous album. There are more elements of 50s rock 'n' roll (as well as some pop of that era) than on the previous, but they're much better integrated into the musical universe of metal. The vocals, which sound like a hybrid between Elvis and Glenn Danzig add a melancholic feel to the otherwise energetic and quite hardcorish music, and this works very well. Volbeat - The Strength/The Sound/The ... 2005Time_Signature has only listened to this once. Excellent Non-Prog Metal! Melodic, Modern, Hardcore, Rock-'n'-Roll, Nu-Metal, Boogie, Energetic, Melancholic, Male-Clean-Vocals, Male-Melodic-Shouting Volbeat was a make-or-break project. The mixture of elements from across the board of metal with elements from classic rock 'n' roll could have gone terribly wrong. Fortunately, it didn't, and it works out quite well most of the time. The music is relatively simple, but mostly energetic, and the slightly Elvis-inspired vocals, especially in the melodic choruses, which are mostly quite melancholic melodically, work surprisingly well. |
